After spending the weekend with friends in the historical city of Philadelphia, I felt the need to tell you the story of the Eastern State Penitentiary (ESP), the very first penitentiary in the United States, operational from 1829 until 1971.

Compared to FCI Danbury, Eastern State Penitentiary in the middle of the City of Philadelphia was a hell hole! We learned from our guide about the horrendous conditions inside the cell blocks. I snapped a bunch of photos, and I'd like to invite you inside to see for yourself.
