If you've ever wanted a horse, here's an opportunity for you to help out some beauties that really need a home.

We are no strangers to dog and cat adoptions and rescues. I have many friends, Lou Milano included, whose pets have been rescues. But if your sights have ever been set on having a horse, here's your chance, while you do something good.

Connecticut is having a horse auction, and before you wrinkle your nose, it has nothing to do with raising money for the state. It's to pay for the costs of caring for 32 horses, and other animals, that were seized back in February from the Fairy Tail Equine Facility in East Hampton, as part of an animal-cruelty investigation.

While the horses have been waiting for their forever home, they are housed and cared for at the Department of Agriculture's Large Animal Rehabilitation Facility at the women’s prison in Niantic. All proceeds will go to the costs uncured in taking care of all of the seized animals.

If you have an interest, you can see photos of all of the horses, plus bios about each of them too. There is also an auction bid application and more. It is all available on  The Connecticut Dept. of Agriculture website. You have until June 1, 2016 to complete the auction bid questionnaire. Now's the time to make yours or someone else's dream come true by giving a home to one or more of these magnificent animals.
