Turns out, according to wallethub.com, Connecticut is near the bottom of the 'Most Sinful States in America' for 2024. For this study, wallethub.com collected data from all 50 states of 55 key indicators of immoral and illicit behavior - Greed, Lust, Excessive Drinking, Jealousy, Gambling Disorders, and Violent Crime, just to name a few. Connecticut did surprisingly well, landing in the bottom 20%.

Overall, Wallethub.com ranked Connecticut as the 41st Most Sinful State in the country. and according to wallethub.com, we're #50 in all the US when it comes to the category of 'Anger & Hatred', which tallied reports of hate crimes, bullying, hostile internet comments, road rage, weapons in schools, and elder abuse, among others. Connecticut ranked #48 in Violent Crimes per Capita, tied for #47 in Share of Population with Gambling Disorders, and #46 in Average Time Spent on Adukt Entertainment Sites. Connecticut didn't do so well when ranked for 'Jealousy', which tallied thefts, identity-theft, and fraud complaints, we landed almost in the middle at #29.

Can you guess who landed at the top of wallethub.com's Most Sinful US States for 2024? It's top tourist destination is nicknamed Sin City, otherwise known as Las Vegas, and it's Nevada. Coming in at #2 was Louisiana, and rounding out the Top 3 is California. Among the New England states, only two of our neighbors were more wholesome than Connecticut, Rhode Island landed at #34, and Massachusetts at #38.
