Who's in charge of naming the best pizza in all of America? Are there 'professional' pizza tasters? Are the best pizza rankings determined by a bunch of different polls across the U.S. of normal, everyday pizza lovers, or do pizza chefs have anything to do with the rankings?

One thing I do know is I Googled five different websites asking, 'Name the Top 25 Pizzerias in the United States.' The websites were Gayot, Food and Wine, Pizza Today, Time Out, and the Family and Destination Guide. Every one of those websites named Frank Pepe's Pizzeria Napoletana as one of the Top Pizzerias in the country, with locations in Danbury, Fairfield, Manchester, Mohegan Sun, New Haven, Waterbury, and West Hartford.

We're all intelligent enough to know that ranking the "Best Pizzerias" whether it be in the U.S. or state-by-state is subjective. What would you say if someone told you that their favorite pizzeria was Domino's or Little Caesars? You would probably tell them they're insane!

I'm a pizza lover but I'm not driving to New Haven or New York City in search of the 'perfect pie.' I love the pizza at Bruno's, and Portofino's two Italian restaurants both in New Fairfield. If you watch Netflix and you're a pizza lover, I highly recommend the limited series titled, "Chef's Table."
