Connecticut Magazine Names ‘Best Restaurants’ of 2016

If we had a crap load of cash, Mindy and I would probably go out for dinner almost every night. This is why I love Connecticut Magazine's 'Best Restaurant' edition which just came out this month. If you're on a tight budget like many people are, CM's Best Restaurant edition is a great tool when you're looking for that 'special occasion restaurant' for any type of cuisine, plus their 'Best Of Reviews' come from both the 'experts' and the 'reader's choice.'

Reader's Choice Awards Highlights

Restaurants in the Greater Danbury area continue to gain momentum every year and came in HOT again! The winner in 'Overall Excellence' went to 'Goodfellas' in New Haven and the Runner-Up was 'Sal e Pepe' in Newtown!

The winner for best 'American Restaurant' was 'The Spinning Wheel Inn' in Redding. 'Ondine' in Danbury was named the runner-up for best 'French Restaurant.' 'Toro' in Newtown was the winner in the best 'Asian' category and Runner-Up for the best 'Sushi' restaurant, where recently I was treated to some of the best sushi I have ever tasted!

Mezon Tapas Bar in Danbury took Runner-Up for best 'Latin American' restaurant. In the 'Pub Grub' category, 'The Little Pub' in Ridgefield took First Place honors and 'Denmo's' took Runner-Up in the 'Road Food' category. The White Horse Pub in Washington picked up a First Place in both the 'Prime Rib' and the 'Best Brunch' categories.
