This year was our 8th annual Camping for Cans collecting food and cash donations for the Hillside Food Outreach.  We reached our goal of $10,000 dollars... actually we exceeded it.

It was somewhere around 11,000 or 12,000 in cash and checks.  Then we had anywhere between $5,000 and $8,000 in food donations.

What happened that I did not anticipate was that we had about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on and without a drink in your hand. I mean in all honesty it's not necessarily a fun concept for us every year. We usually are dealing with bitter temperatures and spending an entire weekend in the parking lot of a retail center.

This year however we had great weather, a constant stream of donations and people to talk to and we knew we were going to reach our goals after the first few hours of the marathon broadcast.  Good times.

Then on top of that it became a three ring circus.  We had Willy the Turkey, a dancing man and a guy that brought down his hot rod to display.  Here are some pictures of it.

It was a great time for a great cause.  Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible and if you could not make it down...please try and stop next year.  You won't regret it.
