From an article in the News-Times, there's a captivating new book of photos out titled, "Cabin Porn," which is not page after page of naked people intermingling in a cabin.

The book is all about handmade homes in the back country of America and all over the world. Zach Klein, co-founder of Vimeo, is the brains behind 'Cabin Porn.' which he's subtitled, 'Inspiration for your quiet place somewhere.'

In his book Klein says that cabin-love is related to the "tiny house movement." He goes on to say, "The American dream is exhausting! Having to live up to this model of largeness is really draining. People are drawn to the possibility we can be happy with a lot less."

Klein also noticed that rustic cottages are part of the culture in many places all over the world especially in northern Europe. In his book Klein said, "What I'm drawn to is creating minimal comfort outdoors so that I can be as close to nature as possible."

Being one with nature is all well and good but on the down side, Klein discovered another reality. After he and his friends built a bunch of cabins, there were unexpected mice infestations and he came down with Lyme disease due to tick bites that are common in the northeast and the mid-Atlantic. He said it just goes to show that "nature isn't move-in ready. It's very much a force that needs to be reckoned with."
