Big Shot and Billy Joel Band Member….Michael DelGuidice

Occasionally Lou and I have the privilege of inviting some of the best local music talent on the show to perform.

Our next profiled artist is Michael DelGuidice, who's been the front man of the Billy Joel tribute band, "Big Shot" for many years. Many of the musicians who play with "Big Shot" also tour with Billy Joel like saxophonist, Mark Rivera and guitarist, Tommy Byrne. Before Billy embarked on his current tour, he asked Michael to join the band as an added vocalist and guitarist and so another one of Michael's dreams came true.

A couple of years ago, I asked Michael if he would drive up from his home on Long Island to be our musical guest during one of our "Camping For Cans" shows. The morning of the show, walking up to our RV, is Michael and his buddy, guitarist Tommy Byrnes, who plays with "Big Shot" and Billy Joel's band. Armed with acoustic guitars, they played a bluesy version of Zeppelin's "Black Dog" and a tasty version of "Roxanne" which you can check out right here!
