According to the News Times, a Black Bear was just walking along I-84 in Southbury, CT this morning. A lot of people witnessed this thing, and even got photos.

The bear population is really soaring around here. Maybe they heard about the quality of life statistics in CT? Who knows? Maybe they are curious about the Ethan and Lou 2nd chance Prom on Friday, May 6 in Danbury? Unlikely, but possible none the less.

I don't know about you, but I don't need to have a run-in with a bear. I just don't. I am busy. I have a radio show to do, a wife, three kids, a dog, and a lot of headaches. I feel like a bear encounter is going to slow down my productivity for the day. I remember two years ago, I went to the Bronx Zoo with my wife, Erica. I had not been there in years. We stopped with the kids at the bear exhibit. I remember thinking that if these bears wanted to get out right now, eat our kids like chicken nuggets, and remove my face, there would be nothing to stop them, including me. They are an animal that gets what they want, when they want it.

My advice for Connecticut residents is to panic. Grab yourself some bear mace, call your loved ones, pack up the car and get the hell out of Dodge. They can make all the cute, talking bear Hyundai TV commercials they want, that is not how that scenario would play out in real life.
