The Ridgefield Playhouse has hosted many legendary artists, but one coming this week is as famous for his work behind the control board as for his songs.

Alan Parsons began his career as an engineer at Abbey Road studios. He was involved with the recording of the Beatles' "Abbey Road" album as well as Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon."  He also worked on albums by the Hollies, Wings, Ambrosia and the Al Stewart classic "Year of the Cat."

Parsons teamed with fellow producer Eric Woolfson to form the Alan Parsons Project. The band achieved success with a mixture of radio-friendly singles and longer, more progressive album cuts.  Ironically, they never toured in their record-making heyday, so Parsons' stop in Ridgefield is extra special, as fans will finally get a chance to hear the hits performed live.

The show is currently (and unsurprisingly) sold out, but a few seats may shake out with the snowstorm forcing a postponement from Tuesday night to Monday, February 2nd.

Enjoy the show if you're lucky enough to be going! For the rest of us, here's an Alan Parsons Project song with a strong Pink Floyd connection.
