Tell the truth, have you ever dropped the turkey and then still served it? Here's the answer to that plus some of my favorite Thanksgiving foods!

It's down to the wire. You're rushing around the kitchen trying to get ready the umpteen side dishes you've planned to go with the Thanksgiving meal...and as you grab the big old bird to pop into the roasting pan..it slips out of your hands right onto the floor! Has this happened to you? Count me in on the yes! Did we pick it up, rinse it off and go on?

Better yet, is it cooked and sitting on the platter ready to go..go..go...and yikes - there it is on the floor..SH*T...If no one saw, do you put it back on the platter and serve it?

So what are the answers. I have done the first, washed it off and put it in the oven to cook. Thankfully, the second scenario has never happened to me. But according to a survey done by PR Newswire 75% of people would serve turkey that fell on the floor. I guess it goes along with the "waste not want not" theory. Or better yet, the theory of "oh my god I have people to feed and I need to do what I need to do!"

The survey also showed that aside from the turkey, stuffing is what we most want to eat followed by mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.

Not me. I jones hard for the MASHED TURNIPS. And as you can imagine, I do manage to get my fill. In keeping with my "weird" tastes, my "leftover" turkey sandwich is as follows: Onion Rye bread slathered with Aunt Anna's home made chopped liver, turkey, stuffing and some "whole" cranberry sauce. I think I have a "cast iron" stomach.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours.
