Southington, Connecticut is slowly becoming my favorite place to grab a quick bite. I'm head over heels in love with Noodles & Company, (You can read my review HERE) and as I was driving by yesterday, I saw that there is a new Smashburger that looks like it's almost ready to open its doors right next door to my beloved Noodles at 826 Queen Street.

Smashburger is a relatively new entry into the fast-casual restaurant wars. Based out of Denver, Colorado, the first Smashburger opened up in 2007. There are a few Connecticut locations already: Post Road in Miflord, Hartford Turnpike in Waterford, and the Buckland Hills area in Manchester. Quite a few are scattered throughout Westchester County also.

I've been cooking hamburgers for years, and I've been told many times that it is a cardinal sin to mush the burger as it cooks. Smashburger bases their whole marketing scheme, and their name, on "smashing" the burger for 10 seconds on a hot, buttered grill. I can't wait to try it and see if they've reinvented the burger wheel.
