I'm no stranger to food eating contests. I've participated in the oyster eating contest at the Norwalk Oyster Festival, I've also been in a pie eating contest, two chicken wing eating contests (Shown below), and I even chowed down a huge turkey leg from Hog Wild BBQ once. It's wonderful to be paid to eat and talk, I tell ya.

On Sunday, June 5, Texas Roadhouse in Waterbury is hosting a rib eating contest, pitting the Waterbury Police Department against the Waterbury Fire Department.

The contest is happening at 11:30 AM sharp. This event will benefit the CT Burn Camp, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

There isn't an admission fee, and Texas Roadhouse will be accepting donations for both charities during the event.

If you haven't been to a Texas Roadhouse, it's a really fun place. They give you peanuts in the shell, and you throw the emptied shells right onto the floor. It really gives you that "roadhouse" vibe. So much so, that I almost expect Patrick Swayze to appear and nicely ask me to leave.
