As well as two of the fishermen from "Wicked Tuna"...oooohhh!

Former New York Yankee/Boston Red Sox/Major League Baseball star Johnny Damon headlines a cluster of sporting celebrities that will appear at the ribbon cutting of the huge new Bass Pro Shops in Bridgeport on Wednesday November 18. The Grand Opening celebration kicks off at 6PM, and it will be followed by a slew of events and giveaways.

Damon will be appearing, as well as two stars of National Geographic's 'Wicked Tuna' - Capt. Bill "Hollywood" Muniz, and TJ Ott. Also slated to appear are sport fishing stars Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, and George Poveromo. Bass Pro Shops is calling the event "Evening for Conservation" and will donate fifty cents of every dollar spent to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Bureau of Natural Resources, and America's Wildlife Museum & Aquarium.

Free giveaways will be given to the first 200 people over 18 years of age, so get in line as soon as they let you if you really want that Columbia Beanie Hat.

Bass Pro Shops is the first major retailer to open in Bridgeport's new Steelpointe Harbor development. It's located on Stratford Avenue, which is off of Exit 28 of I-95 North, or exit 29 of I-95 South.
