90 year old Korean War vet Chuck Finnegan from New Fairfield was overwhelmed when he took a long look at his house.

15 to 30 volunteers descended on Finnegan's home this past weekend to give it a brand new look. Bent and broken shingles were replaced along with drafty doors and windows. Inside the home, a fresh coat of paint dressed up each room on Barnum Road in New Fairfield. Mr. Finnegan told the NewsTimes:

There is no end to my gratitude - none. I appreciate what everyone of them is doing.

This home revitalization is the 30th project completed for a veteran that's sponsored by the Home Depot Foundation funded with Homefront, a Stamford based non-profit. Volunteers poured in from RebelCares, St.Edward's Church along with Western CT State University students and teachers.
