Undercover Operation Leads to Massive Drug Arrest in Putnam County
A Putnam County man is facing a lengthy prison sentence after an undercover drug operation led his arrest on six felony counts.
In July 2016, an investigator assigned to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit developed information that 31-year-old Christopher Cardillo of Putnam Valley was selling prescription medications within the Hudson Valley, police say.
During the undercover investigation, Cardillo allegedly sold Oxycodone pills to an undercover agent on three different occasions.
Cardillo was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, all felonies.
Cardillo was arraigned in Town of Carmel Court and was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.
Bail was posted, police say. Cardillo is due back in court at a later date.
If found guilty of the felony charges, Cardillo could face up to 25 years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to $30,000 on each count.
