You know what they say, "you gotta be in it to win it." Well, being "in it" definitely paid off for two Danbury residents, both of whom hit large lotto jackpots on the same exact day.

According to the CT Lottery, it happened Wednesday (June 5) when Craig Ten Broeck of Danbury picked up his Powerball ticket at Caraluzzi's Bethel Food Market.

That same day, Kenneth Barney, also of Danbury, picked up a 30X Cash 5th Edition ticket at Handy Shop Citgo in Waterbury.

When the numbers came up Craig had picked up a quick $50,000 from his Powerball ticket, and Kenneth had an extra $30,000 from his 30X Cash 5th Edition pick.

Over the last week the 30X Cash 5th Edition game has been a lucky one for area residents. On May 31st Coty Shell of New Milford won $10,000 from a ticket purchased at the Hit and Run Convenience store on Route 7 in New Milford, and Benjamin Myers oif Ridgefield won $10,000 from a ticket he picked up at Stop and Shop in Ridgefield.

This weekend there's a boat load of money up for grabs. The $530 Mega Millions drawing happens Friday night, and the Saturday night Powerball jackpot is estimated to be around $53 million.
