A fire that broke out at the Days Inn by Wyndham Thursday night is now under investigation by the West Redding Fire Marshal.

Fire crews from Redding, Ridgefield and Georgetown responded to a fire Thursday night at the Day's Inn on Route 7.

According to the West Redding Fire Dept, crews from Redding, Ridgefield and Georgetown responded to a fire Thursday night at the Day's Inn on Route 7 at approximately 10:40 pm Thursday night. Apparently an automatic fire alarm sounded and smoke was coming from part of the Hotel.

When Redding firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered the fire coming from one of the 34 guest rooms.

Extra crews were requested from Ridgefield and Georgetown Firefighters were also dispatched to the scene, and by a little after 11 pm the fire had been extinguished.

Now the West Redding Fire Marshal, Mickey Grasso, is conducting an investigation into how and why the fire started and so far, the cause of the blaze is still undetermined at this time. No injuries were reported.
