Police in a Connecticut town have arrested a man they believe is responsible for a string of bizarre crimes that have been happening over the past year.

Late last month, we shared some video footage courtesy of the Westport Police Department that left officers scratching their heads as they tried to figure out why someone was repeatedly leaving boxes of decapitated chickens in a local resident's yard on Franklin St. Now, the Westport PD says they've caught a break in the investigation.

According to a social media post from the department, the tormented victim reported another illegal dumping on the Franklin St. property at 11:30 PM on Friday, April 12. The suspect allegedly dropped a bag, which was later found to contain two headless chickens and one white pigeon, onto the property and began running south toward Saugatuck Train Station.

Police say Westport's Corporal Smith locate and identify the male suspect as 48-year-old Ajamu Obataiye, and the home surveillance footage from the victim's property reportedly confirmed the same.

Obataiye was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, breach of peace and illegal dumping. He was released on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court early next week.
