Watch Footage From Megadeth’s Secret New York Show
Heads up, Megadeth fans: If you ever happen to notice a local concert listing for a band calling itself Vic and the Rattleheads, snap up tickets without delay.
Bravewords reports that the band stopped in for secret show at the St. Vitus Bar in Brooklyn last night, and although most Megadeth listeners weren't able to be there, we can all check out portions of the gig via the fan-shot footage above and below.
The band remains on the road in support of this year's Dystopia LP, which peaked at No. 3 after its January arrival — Megadeth's highest chart peak since Countdown to Extinction hit No. 2 in 1992. They're scheduled to appear tonight at the Revolver Music Awards in New York, where they're up for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Guitarist and Best Drummer — and frontman Dave Mustaine is set to accept a lifetime achievement award.
Megadeth's East Coast jaunt includes a stop at Late Night With Seth Meyers on Dec. 15, followed by Mustaine's special holiday show, dubbed Thrashing Through the Snow, taking place at Boston's Hard Rock Café the following night. The acoustic set, which will reportedly feature holiday songs in addition to band favorites, is being held as a benefit for the non-profit organization Music Drives Us.
The band's 2017 tour calendar is still fairly light — they're booked for a visit to the Philippines in April — but they're keeping busy: in March, they're hosting Megadeth Boot Camp, an "ultimate fan experience" held on Mustaine's California estate that features everything from wine tastings to music lessons.
