Danbury Schools Will Dismiss Early Today Due to the Heat

A post on the Danbury Public Schools Facebook page states that because of extreme heat, schools will be dismissing early today. Danbury Public Schools will have an early dismissal today.

Today will be a scorcher. It looks like it will be our first one of the season. All after school and evening activities are cancelled as well.

The National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert for today for Fairfield, New Haven and New London counties which is in effect through 10:00pm tonight.

An Air Quality Action Day has been issued by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection which means that the Air Quality Index has reached a level that could be unhealthy. With a predicted Air Quality Index of 115 for the city of Danbury, sensitive individuals could have issues breathing.
