It's not alright. It will never be alright.

I'm Jewish and whenever I'm at our Danbury synagogue, especially during the high holy days of Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah, every once in a while I look over my shoulder just in case the unthinkable might happen. Is this how you want your children and grandchildren to grow up?

No one, absolutely no one should be afraid of being gunned down because of their ethnicity, religion, or color of their skin. Saturday's shooting killed 11 and injured 6 others and was the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in this country's history.

According to an article in the NewsTimes, flags across Connecticut will fly at half-mast until sundown on Wednesday to honor the victims of the shootings at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Governor Daniel Malloy stated:

Today's senseless attack is yet another tragic reminder that hatred, intolerance, and violence consume the hearts of too many individuals.
