April 7 is National Beer Day … and no we didn’t make that up just so we could get our buzz on. Here's how the holiday was started:

Florida Today reports that the holiday was started on April 7, 1933 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt ended prohibition and people were allowed to drink for the first time in 13 years, as long as what they were drinking had less than a 4 percent alcohol by volume content in it.

i95 loves beer so much that we are having an entire event dedicated to the hoppy golden deliciousness that is beer.

Make sure you show us how much you love beer at our Brews & BBQ event on May 16 at the Ives Center. We’ll have lots of tasty craft beer, delicious BBQ from local restauranteurs, vendors, live music from Nashville Drive and Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and of course, lots of fun.

So how/where are you celebrating National Beer Day? Tell us in the comments.
