Zika Cases Continue to Rise in Connecticut
Zika. It's real, and Connecticut is seeing its fair share of people affected.
With the Summer Olympics taking center stage in Brazil, even the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posted warnings about Zika for travelers.
Now, according to ctpost.com, officials say there have been 39 confirmed cases of Zika involving state residents, though, thankfully, none of those people contracted the virus in Connecticut. The CDC says there have been more than 1,800 confirmed Zika cases in the U.S., with over 5,000 cases in territories controlled by the U.S.
Thankfully, we're not talking epidemic proportions, but still enough for concern and awareness.
