A Fusion 2016 Issues Poll in conjunction with the Washington Post says young white American's are less and less likely to believe in the American dream.

The study mirrored one done in 1986 and found that while both time periods are economically similar faith that it can get better is dwindling.

NO KIDDING.

Look around.  It's hard to get jobs and once you have them you are lucky to make a wage that can meet your financial needs.  I am 36 years old and as an individual adult I have not ever lived a day on my own that I was not behind on a payment or in some sort of financial trouble.  The fact is prices of things....ALL THINGS go up and salaries don't follow them.  The article mentions that there has been over a decade of wage stagnation for typical workers.  AGAIN...NO KIDDING.

I will say something I have been saying for years and that is we need to be teaching kids from an early age in school how to manage their finances.  There were a lot of things I learned in high school but not one thing about how to manage the money that I do have.  We need to be teaching money management in school as early as 9th grade and it should be a requirement.  You can keep art class and study hall and make room for that.

I do not believe the American dream is dead but it's pretty damn sick I'll say that.  I know little to nothing about how to fix the problems either but I do know that doing the same old thing won't work.  I worry about my kids and being able to give them the tools they will need to navigate a world that will in all likelihood look a lot worse than it is now. I hope that is not the case.
