Connecticut Surgeon Sued After Allegedly Removing Wrong Body Part

Imagine going under the knife for the removal of a pesky hemorrhoid and you wake up with a missing gall bladder!

Actually it wasn't that bad, but according to the Milford Patch, a Yale surgeon is being sued for malpractice after operating on a patient's cancerous rib. The problem was, he supposedly operated on the wrong rib. The patient, Milford resident, Deborah Craven, is filing a lawsuit against Dr. Anthony Kim, claiming he operated on the wrong rib, lied about it, and then wheeled her back into the operating room the same day to cover up his mistake.

Also named in the lawsuit was Kim's surgical trainee, Dr. Ricardo Quarrie, who Craven claims lied outright by telling her, "Not enough rib had been taken" instead of telling her they had removed the wrong rib. The Milford patch reached out to Yale New Haven Hospital for comment, but has not heard back.

Dr. Martin Mackary, a professor of surgery and health policy at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine told usnews.com that:
