Can't you just smell the burgers and dogs cooking? It's OPEN!

My love affair with Frankie's on Watertown Avenue in Waterbury started in the early 70's. My parents used to take us to Carvel right next door, and I would wander to the right and stare at the hot dogs that people were chowing down.

Frankie's has a few locations in our area, you can check out those locations and their menu HERE

But my favorite Frankie's, the one that I've been going to since 1970 (oof) is the Watertown Avenue location. The only problem? It's a seasonal location, like Denmo's in Southbury, and rest in peace...Johnny's in Middlebury.

So... this particular Frankie's closes down when the temps drop close to freezing, sometimes into October/November, and they stay closed until the snow melts. Well my hungry friends...that time is now, even as the snow continues to fall occasionally.

Frankie's is now open for business!

I drove by yesterday and saw that the window fixtures were open, oh my! Get on out there, grab some cheese cubes and a fried clam strip, and then go next door and get a Carvel ice cream. It's the sure sign that the warmer weather is only a few weeks away!
