Dr. Robert Bakker, a world renowned paleontologist will be speaking at Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill on Saturday, Nov.19.

According to dinosaurstatepark.org., dinosaur expert Dr. Robert Bakker will be visiting the park on Nov.19 to give two lectures about his 'Dinosaur Renaissance'. Who doesn't love dinosaurs? 50 years ago, dinosaur footprints were discovered in Rocky Hill. 500 of those footprints are on display at the Dinosaur Park. When the first dinosaur footprints were discovered in 1966, Bakker was attending Yale University working with his mentor, John Ostrom who together discovered 'Dinosaur State Park' in Rocky Hill.

Dr. Bakker will deliver two lectures next Saturday, Nov.19 at Rocky Hill State Park, one at 11am and another at 2pm. This is the guy who wrote 'Dinosaur Heresies' in 1986 which reworked contemporary theories about dinosaurs. Here's a fact that will blow your mind! According to reference.com., dinosaurs began roaming the earth 230 million years ago and continued to hang out for 160 million years!
