I'm still dumbfounded and equally horrified by this story. It takes drunk and disorderly to another level.

Say it isn't so. Why would anyone waste a perfectly fine beverage?

According to stamfordadvocate.com, a New York woman is facing charges after she allegedly smashed a television at a Stamford hotel with a wine bottle. All I can say is, calm down lady, "Think before you react" is always a good rule of thumb. Apparently, not in this case.

The Stamford Advocate states that police were called to the Sheraton Hotel after the manager found a woman who appeared drunk in a hallway. Some people just slide down the wall and sit quietly to sleep it off. Evidently, not in this case, though. An argument soon developed between the woman and others in a nearby hotel room, and Athena Newend allegedly threw the bottle at the TV. She's been charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

I'm guessing stupidity falls under those charges. I'm praying it wasn't a Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon 1992, which according to fianceonline.com, tops out at a whopping half-a-million bucks!
