Ye,p Don Johnson had it all in the 80s.  He had a hit TV show with Miami Vice, he had the ladies, money and good looks. How can you possibly screw that up? I'll tell you how... by releasing and album. That's how and that is just what he did.

He's looking for a heartbeat and I am looking for the mute button.

Oh and how did he get the guy from Breaking Bad to appear in this train wreck of a music video?  Other notable tracks from the "Heartbeat" album were:

  • Voice on a hotline
  • The last sound love makes
  • Lost in your eyes
  • COCO DON'T
  • Heartache away
  • Love Roulette
  • STAR TONIGHT
  • Gotta get away
  • Can't take your memory

If those don't sound familiar it is because you never heard them.  I listened to samples of a few of them as research for this blog and I am sorry I did.  It's maybe the worst case of "I'm really good at acting so of course I'll be good at singing."

I got through five seconds of Love Roulette before I HAD TO STOP IT.

Yeah the album "Heartbeat" was released in 1986 and the title track actually reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.  That's just more proof that there was NO accounting for taste in the 80s.  The good news is time heals all wounds. Johnson put down the microphone in the late 80s and life rolls on.  He's much older now, but still as talented as ever. He now stars in the TV show: "Blood & Oil."

Johnson was not the only one.  There have been a ton of actors who decided to give the music business a whirl.  Some of the more notable disasters include but are not limited to:

  • Bruce Willis
  • Russel Crowe
  • Keanu Reeves
  • Johnny Depp
  • Eddie Murphy
  • David Hasselhof

The list goes on and on.  We will be talking about this tomorrow morning on the Ethan and Lou show.  Call us between 5:30-10am at 203-775-9595
