The Real Truth Behind ‘The Elf on the Shelf’ [PHOTOS]

The story goes that the "Elf on the Shelf" is Santa's Director of Spying, who heads up a team of scouting elves who check in on boys and girls between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. The "Elf on the Shelf" collects all the data from his team and reports back to Santa about who's been naughty or nice.Truthfully, this "Elf on the Shelf" dude creeps me out! He looks so cute with his innocent little kid face and chubby cheeks, but deep down inside he's a North Pole operative. Once he gets the dirt on the kids, he'll fly back to the North Pole on Santa's private Gulf Stream corporate jet to rat out kids all over the world! Who does that?! He's like the Secret Police of Christmas!

In more densely populated areas like New York City, Tokyo, and Sao Paulo, they travel in teams of two called, "Elves on the Shelf" and they're armed with mini ice shooters.You just never know when you're going to have to call in backup. Just look at these two pictured on Amazon.com

These Santa operatives appear angelic and innocent, with cherry red cheeks, and decked out in their Christmas best just waiting to catch some kid pulling the cat's tail or not sharing a toy with a brother or sister and making them cry.

Is this any way to keep your kids in check between Thanksgiving and Christmas by sending in deceiving little elves to tattle on your kids to Santa. I think not!
