It looks like a bunch of the local area's roads in New York State will finally get repaved after years of bad winters destroying them.

According to the Southeast-Brewster Patch, Gov Andrew Cuomo is setting aside $75 million for pothole repair and paving jobs in Putnam and Westchester Counties.

More specifically the money will repave over 400 miles of state highways in the state to improve commuting experiences around the Hudson Valley.

Gov Cuomo says, as reported by Patch:

It’s important to keep the state’s highways in top shape, and after another harsh winter, we’re expediting critical repair projects to ensure the roads are safer for New Yorkers.  This funding will speed up much-needed resurfacing and rebuilding efforts, which is good for motorists across the state.

2015-2016 budget, which will hopefully mean that repaving will happen sooner than later.

Route 22 and parts of 684 are a complete disaster, so hopefully those two roads in our local area will receive some of the love. Big props to the highway departments for doing the best they can to keep them up, but after awhile, a complete pave job is needed with all the heavy local traffic.

That can only happen when the state gives you the money to do it!
