Memorial Day and BBQ go very well together. It's just starting to warm up here in Connecticut, and we're finally going to see 80 degree temperatures as the holiday weekend approaches. The warm weather finally got me to go shopping for steaks, so I went to my local grocery store, Town Plot IGA, to pick up a juicy ribeye and some chicken to grill up this weekend. As I was entering the store, the big banner you see above caught my attention.

Town Plot IGA is bringing in Big Ugly's BBQ, an award-winning competitive BBQ team from Perryville, Maryland, to cook chickens, pulled pork, and spare ribs in-house this Memorial Day weekend. Big Ugly's will be setting up and smoking meats on Saturday, May 28; Sunday, May 29; and Memorial Day, Monday, May 30.

As much as I love cooking outside on the grill, I equally love paying someone a little extra to cook my food for me, so I can concentrate on more important things, like eating and drinking on a day off. I've been shopping at Town Plot IGA my whole life, more than 40 years so far. The Schnaars family has always taken care of my family, and they're a huge asset to the Town Plot community. I'll see you in the line for ribs this weekend!
