UPDATE: Danbury Water Main Restored But Precautions Still Encouraged
The City of Danbury is reporting this morning that water has been restored to areas of the town that were affected by the water main break on Tamarack Ave.
Crews from the city installed a new water valve that had to be shipped in from Total Piping Solutions in Olean, N.Y.
Now even though the water problem has been fixed, the city says residents are still urged to boil water for drinking, and use bottled water for brushing your teeth. Showering with city water is fine. The Danbury Health Department believes at this point, there is little to no risk with the city water, and expects to lift the boiling water alert by tomorrow.
This all started late Monday, when a valve broke causing water to flood the area on Tamarack Avenue and Hayestown Road. By Tuesday morning, it was a full fledged water emergency.
