Officials at both Cartus and Boehringer Ingelheim have announced this week that they will be laying off some of their company's employees. 

According to newstimes.com, both Boehringer Ingelheim and Cartus have confirmed the companies are facing another round of layoffs in an effort to trim operating expenses at their local facilities.

The Cartus layoffs could effect up to 100 workers in their Danbury facility, and the Boehringer Ingelheim layoffs would effect workers in it's Ridgefield location.

Both companies cited restructuring as the main reason for the cut backs, with Cartus confirming limited job cuts. Officials at Boehringer Ingelheim declined to identify how many jobs would be lost at the company, which employs about 2,700 people in the region.
