Twisted Sister's final area show has been announced. It will take place on October 1, at the Rock Carnival festival in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Folks around here have always treated Twisted Sister as an adopted local band. Before they were famous, the Long Island legends played CT and NY clubs relentlessly. They were regulars at the long-gone Fore 'N Aft in Brewster, and every CT/NY resident of a certain age has a tale of going to see them there, most often sneaking in underage.

The group broke up in 1987, reformed in the late 90s, and have toured regularly ever since. However, after drummer A.J. Pero passed away, the band decided to call it quits for good this year. They're playing several metal festivals in Europe and Mexico before the New Jersey date.

Tickets for the Rock Carnival go on sale here Friday May 13th. Other acts on the bill that weekend include Ace Frehley, Dokken, Tom Keifer's Cinderella, Overkill and more.

In tribute to Twisted Sister's club days, check out this reel-to-reel tape from the i95 archives. There's no information about where or when the show was recorded- but note the disclaimer about profanity. (No surprise there!)
