Alarm Systems just released their results of the safest places to live in Connecticut. Data was collected, compared, and analyzed from several different sources including the FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report. Here are the Top 10 safest places to live in Connecticut.
1. RIDGEFIELD
Founded in 1708 by a small group of families from Long Island Sound that purchased the land from the Ramapo Indians.
2. WILTON
The average household income is over $300,000.
3. WESTON
Settled by English farmers in the early 1800's.
4. EASTON
Settled by a group of famers from Fairfield.
5. REDDING
Redding grew from John Read's Lonetown Manor which was settled in 1714.
6. SUFFIELD
Located in the Connecticut River Valley near the Massachusetts border.
7. EAST HAMPTON
Important part of the shipbuilding industry and later in the 19th century became the center for bell manufacturing.
8. NEW CANAAN
One of the most affluent towns in the nation, New Canaan earned the 5th spot in the 2013 CNN's money list.
9. NEWTOWN
Settled by English colonists in 1705.
10. MADISON
This town is rich in old and historic architecture and buildings.
The LEAST safest places to live in Connecticut are East Windsor, Bridgeport, Waterbury, New Haven, and Hartford.
