That's my dad in 1959, and this photo was featured in an exhibit at Waterbury's Timexpo Museum recently.

My dad was a coach on the undefeated 1959 Croft High School football team. I treasure anything related to my dad, while he was living, and even more now since he passed. Our whole family went to Timexpo and walked through the exhibits until we found the photo behind glass.

A little piece of him still in this world.

I was very sad to read that the museum is slated to shut it's doors in September of this year. Lack of attendance and publicity seem to be the main causes.

I've always been a supporter of the arts. My wife is a docent at the New Britain Museum of American Arts, and we got to go to MOMA in NYC recently. At MOMA, I was able to stand and photograph this masterpiece by Vincent van Gogh , The Starry Night.

At Yale's Peabody Museum, I was able to stand feet away from the skulls of three Triceratops.

I'm a lucky man to have been able to have seen all of these treasures with my own eyes. Be a patron to the world of the arts, before you cannot. Timeexpo's last day is set for Sept. 30. Get the details here on FOX CT.
