The man, the myth, the legend! As you sit on the "throne" today you may utter his name, but should you?

So here it is. If you look for "This Day in History" info you'll find that it says on January 13, 1863 Thomas Crapper unveiled his invention - the one-piece pedestal "flushing" toilet. Thus was born the "Holy Crap!"

BUT - hang onto that comment, because the more you dig, the more you find that good 'ole Tom may not be quite as "responsible" as we think! Crapper DID own a store in London, which WAS the world’s first sink, toilet and bath showroom. But he was really more of a "salesman" for our beloved toilet than actual "inventor."

Digging deeper, I found a great article in Toilet-Guru.com that traces the history of the first "modern" flushing toilet in Britain back to 1596 and inventor Sir John Harington. And for "sh*t* and giggles" if you read further down in the piece in Toilet-Guru.com the myth about "crap" being derived from Thomas Crapper gets dispelled too!

So much for "holy......um....I gotta go.......
