Connecticut is the envy of the culinary world because of these

I love seafood. My dad used to chase me around the house with calamari tentacles. He used to eat mussels and octopus and clams like M&M's. If you go anywhere outside of the Northeast, our local seafood is very expensive. But we got it good here. Supermarkets sell fresh lobsters through the summer months at anywhere from $3.99 to $5.99 a pound. I bought that 3 1/2 pounder in the photo last week for around $24.00. In a restaurant, it would go for $50 all day. I know most people are squeamish about cooking a live animal, but I can tell you out of the literal hundreds that I've personally cooked, I've never heard a lobster make a sound, let alone cry when it cooks. That's a myth. I still feel bad though, right up until the time that I tear the tail or claw off, and eat it. Then I could care less about anything in the world really. So get out there and support the Connecticut economy by eating more lobster, and tell those critters that Large Dave will see their cousins very soon.....
