As I was driving into work this morning, I got off of the horrendous I-84 Westbound trip at exit 15 in Southbury. I took a left, and traveled down Main Street. Every half mile or so, there were reminder placards on the side of the road. "Support the School Budget, Vote Wednesday."

These are not signs about Donald Trump, or Bernie Sanders, or even Grandpa Munster. No, these are from even scarier folks. Parents of school children. Yikes! I shudder when I think about them.

You want to elicit outrage from a crowd nowadays? Take a program or a teacher away from a school. Nothing gets blood boiling quicker than those hot-button issues. Southbury has always had passionate parents raging at Educational budget town hall sessions.

The budget referendum voting takes place in only one place May 4, at the Firehouse at 461 Main Street South, from 6 AM until 8 PM.
