In your humble opinion, which dessert represents the great state of Connecticut?

The website thedailymeal.com. has just published "The Most Iconic Desserts From Every State." What does it take for a state such as Connecticut to realistically adopt a name, flower or an emblem? Let me tell you, it's a bureaucratic nightmare which is why only a handful of states adopt anything. Nevertheless, thedailymeal.com has taken it upon themselves to suggest desserts or local iconic confections for every state in the nation. The following are their suggestions for signature desserts for each of the 7 states in New England.

Connecticut - Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwich - I say absolutely not! I've never had a snickerdoodle ice cream sandwich nor have I ever heard of such a thing. My vote for Connecticut's signature dessert would be the simple homemade "Chocolate Chip Cookie." Try one of the best at "The Goodie Shoppe" in New Fairfield.

VermontApple Pie - Since Vermont has adopted the apple as their official fruit, it only makes sense that you add 5 lbs. of sugar and dough to make this scrumptious dessert their own.
