Forget the Walking Dead, this weekend it's all about the Rocking Dead.

This weekend, fans of the Grateful Dead have plenty of options to soothe their musical cravings.

First on Friday night, Dead historian David Gans will give a talk and musical performance entitled "Truckin' with the Grateful Dead: Hippies to Highbrows" at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts. Gans will be joined by official Grateful Dead archivist Nicolas Meriwether and Dark Star Orchestra guitarist Jeff Matson for an evening discussing the Dead's history and legacy and playing their music. Tickets are available here.

On Saturday night, it's more Dead music as Terrapin will perform at the Palace Theater in Waterbury. If you were at this year's Forever Grateful fest in Danbury, you know what a great show this talented Dead tribute band puts on, and they're doing it again Saturday night. It's an intimate show in the Palace's beautiful lobby. Get tickets here.

Finally, Founding Dead member Phil Lesh sets up shop at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester this weekend for 3 shows, on Friday, Saturday and Monday nights. Tickets for all 3 shows are available at the Cap's website.

Throw on that tie-dye and celebrate Halloween Dead-style!
