Jeez West Haven, losing Captain's Galley was bad enough

Remember the Connecticut shoreline back in the day? You'd drive along Route 1 and there were little seafood shacks serving up the briny grub everywhere. My parents took us down to Hammonasset, we'd stop at a shack after a day on the beach, and try to eat our body weight in raw clams, or delicious lobster rolls.

West Haven's Beach Road had two iconic seafood joints. My favorite place was Captain's Galley, which closed in 2010.

NBCCONNECTICUT.COM is reporting that another Beach Road landmark Chick's is closing down for good as of November 15, 2015. I'm assuming that there must be a great offer for that stretch of Beach Road property where the two restaurants stood for many years.

Don't fret seafood lovers, there are still some great places to get your seafood fix. In fact, CLICK HERE for a nice list that I composed recently.
