It begins with pain pills like Oxycontin and Percocet and often times graduates to heroin. On the Ethan and Lou Show this morning we talked to actor Lillo Brancato from The Sopranos, A Bronx Tale, and Crimson Tide fame. Discovered by Robert DeNiro, his acting career and personal life were moving at 100mph. He started with the pain pills and eventually started snorting heroin which helped land him in prison for eight years. Luckily he came to his senses in prison and turned his life around. His story is riveting and you can hear him tell that story on Wednesday, March 23 at the Ridgefield Playhouse. There's no charge but you must reserve your seat to attend by calling 203-438-5795.

According to wtnh.com, because of the state wide heroin crisis, the state has introduced a number for addicts to call who which to seek treatment, which is 1-800-563-4086 and it's manned 24/7. When you call that number, you will immediately be connected to a clinic where help is available.

I have a loved one who's been an addict for the last 10 years. He started with Oxys which progressed to heroin. I've seen him squirming on a couch crying because he was dope sick. Someone gave him a number saying, "If you call this number, someone will come and pick you up and take you to detox." Had he not taken that 'someone's' advice, there's a good chance he wouldn't be with us today.

Take it from me because I've seen it, it's not going to get any better unless you make that first move by calling this Connecticut helpline at 1-800-563-4086! It's time!

Listen to Ethan Carey on the Ethan & Lou Show weekdays from 5:30-10AM on 95.1 FM. You can listen online at i95rock.com/listen-live/ or by downloading the radioPup app for your mobile device.
