If you find the pungent odor of garlic intoxicating, get to Bethlehem, Connecticut this weekend

The 11th annual Connecticut Garlic and Harvest Festival is happening at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday October 10-11th. Garlic is definitely the star attraction, you'll find quite a few vendors selling the little white bulbs of culinary gold scattered throughout the fairgrounds. Be warned though - Get there early on Saturday morning if you want to get the rare stuff. The place in the photo above, Ireland Farm, typically sells out within an hour of the main gate opening.

There will be live entertainment, garlic growing demonstrations, rides for the kids, and plenty of really good food vendors. This was the first place that I tried fried pickles and fried corn on the cob. I have to give a special shout out to Spacey Tracy's out of Rhinebeck, NY for introducing me to those delights! Tracy is going to be there this weekend, I highly suggest you try them.
