This ball breaking fish is native to South America and is a distant relative to the Piranha. It's called a Pacu fish and has teeth which look very similar to human teeth. It's actually kind of freaky looking! Angler, Ron Rossi recently caught a Pacu in Swedes Lake in southern New Jersey, which begs the question, how did the Pacu make its way into fresh water lakes in the U.S.? Many of these fish have been purchased as pets for aquariums, but as they outgrow the habitat, they're tossed into a nearby lake by their owners to attack male genitalia!!

OK, so maybe the Pacu's quest of searching for, and feasting on the "family jewels" is a bit of a myth, although back in 2011 it was blamed for the death of two New Guinea men who allegedly died from blood loss after the fish thought their testicles were on the lunch menu! Experts do recommend that men keep their swim trunks tied tightly. New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection said, "Many times, these fish are deposited into fresh water lakes by their owners. These fish do not survive in colder water, so we advise people not to release it into the wild, but to humanly destroy the fish." The solution is easy, just wear an jock strap!
