Two teenagers are facing up to four years in prison for allegedly spray painting a Hudson Valley bridge.

Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of several males spray painting on a bridge near Indian Brook Road in the Town of Philipstown.

Upon arrival, the deputies noticed the freshly painted graffiti tags on the concrete bridge support structure but were unable to locate the suspects.

Police searched the area and soon found a vehicle that match the description and had the license plate number given by the person who reported seeing the spray painting in action.

Authorities say an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, both of Cortlandt Manor, admitted to spray painting the bridge when they were questioned.

Police also allegedly recovered a backpack that contained six cans of spray paint in colors that matched that of the graffiti.

Both were charged with criminal mischief, a felony, and making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments, misdemeanors. The teenagers were
processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the felony charges, the defendants could face up to four years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.
