For the next two weeks, the Connecticut State Police will be eyeballing you if you're not wearing your seatbelt. 

The NewsTimes is warning drivers about a crackdown by state police for the next two weeks from May 23 through June 5. The police will be looking for drivers and passengers who are not belted in along Route 8, Route 15, I-95, and I-691. In 47 seconds, this is why you should wear your seatbelt,

Reasons not to wear your seatbelt, maybe you have a death wish or you can afford and/or enjoy paying a $92 ticket. You may be saying, "It's not cool to wear a seatbelt," or "I'm not ever going to get into an accident. why bother, plus I just don't like the way it feels."

Studies have proven that when you buckle up, the chance of a serious injury is greatly reduced. Here are the latest seatbelt stats according to edgarsnyder.com, in fatal accidents, 48% were not wearing a seat belt. For those who were wearing a seatbelt during a traffic accident, 76, 452 were not injured. For those not wearing a seatbelt, only 4,605 were not injured.
