Chowdafest is This Weekend in Westport

Chowdafest is the biggest and baddest chowder and soup competition on the East Coast.

It's finally here this Sunday, October 11 from 11am until 3pm at Sherwood Island in Westport. For just the price of admission($15), you get a spoon, a ballot, a pencil and unlimited samplings from over 40 restaurants, so you can rate your favorites.

Four kinds of chowder are represented, including New England Clam, Manhattan/Rhode Island Clam, Creative Chowder, and Soup/Bisque. 40 award winning restaurants are taking part from every state in New England, and best of all, Chowdafest benefits "Community Plates" in an effort to alleviate area hunger. It also helps out the "Friends of Sherwood Island." and "Kids Helping Kids Foundations."

But wait there's more like an Italian themed section called "ciao-dafest, sample chips and salsa, and treat yourself to ice cream and cheeses in the "Farm to Table" section. This is a soup lovers dream come true. For tickets and more info, click on Chowdafest.org
